One way to approach a scene is to look for and determine the light and shadow patterns. What is in light? What is in shadow?

Select three of your photos from your photo library. For each photo, develop at least three alternative compositions stressing variety of:

  • Line
  • Shape

Make sure that you keep unequal distribution of light and shadow masses.

  • Photo Library
  • Drawing Journal
  • Pencil
  • Value Markers
