The Art of Studying 2025

The Art of Studying 2025

February 5 - March 12, 2025

I’m excited to offer this 6-week online workshop on one of my favorite topics, “The Art of Studying” from February 5th - March 12th. This was a fantastic workshop in 2024 and I'm looking forward to diving into this topic again!

Studying is the key to becoming a better painter, and it's one of my favorite ways to help artists find inspiration, a-ha moments, clarity, answers, and excitement in your own artistic process - if you’ve been to a workshop or a Zoom call with me you know I reference other paintings and approaches often.

We'll meet once a week for an hour on Zoom (Wednesdays at noon Mountain Time, starting February 5th) to discuss a variety of paintings and to take you through what I look for when I’m studying paintings.

This class is designed to help you come up with your own versions of what you think you're seeing, and will help you find answers to your own questions.

This workshop is $850 and is limited to 15 participants. There will be lots of engagement and discussion each week.

What's included:

  • 6 weeks of live Zoom calls: February 5th - March 12th
  • Lots of interaction and engagement
  • Weekly assignments
  • A private community space to post assignments and discuss the calls and themes with other workshop students
  • Lifetime access to the call recordings
